What to include in CV
1) Maintain chronology. Most recent ones first
2)The order is-
a) Education
b) Clinical experience
c) Research experience
d) Publications
e) Volunteering and leadership experience
f) Awards and achievements
g) Memberships
h) Others- to include hobbies and interests and languages spoken
3) If you have nothing to include in the research section, you don’t have to worry, this is an elective not a match and they most probably won’t look at your CV that much. It’s enough if you apply early with a basic CV.
4) Since this is a CV for electives, include EVERYTHING and ANYTHING you can think of. Don’t shy away from writing about the 10/10 GPA you got in your 10th grade. Anything to fill your CV and make it big okay.
5) You can get BLS and HIPAA certified to include that in CV, maybe it will help with your application cuz it does look good that you know those skills.
6) You can include all you paper presentations, case presentations and awards won in the awards and achievements section. Any gold medal/distinction can be in that section as well.
7) Skip publications if you have none.
8) You may have headed your college fest, which goes in volunteering and leadership.
9) You can include free memberships i.e. you can become a free member at the American college of physicians and include that as well.
A CV of 1.5 page length should be enough and even if you have nothing to write I’m pretty sure you can do that.
